IMG_6780 «Осторожно, ослик кусается!», – предупредили нас  на входе в Контактный зоопарк  «Парка бабочек».  Помнится, я в пол уха выслушала это предостережение. А пока  кормила кроликов, вообще забыла, кого там надо опасаться: ослика или, может, козлика.  Во всяком случае, ни тот ни другой не выглядел угрожающе.  Одно могу сказать – у милого ишачка были очень мягкие уши и очень грустные глаза.  Как у Иа-иа.

Но образ этакого кусачего боевого  осла крепко засел мне в душу. Захотелось понять, так ли уж безобидна меланхолия милновского Иа-иа, и на что вообще способны милые ослики.

Оказывается, у ишаков есть грозное и страшное оружие – некованые крепкие копытца. Их потому, собственно, и не подковывают, что ослиные копыта в два раза прочнее лошадиных. Но так же, как и лошади, ослы не любят, когда к ним подходят сзади и могут лягнуть – мало не покажется. Разве что самцы, случается, оберегая свою территорию, «показывают зубы». Но вот постоять за себя каждый осел сможет. И не только за себя. Способность ишаков отбиться от диких животных издавна использовали фермеры, приобретая длинноухих в качестве охранников для стад более робких овец и коз.

Так что на поверку ослики оказались не столько злобными, сколько сильными, храбрыми и…умными. А вовсе не упрямыми, как мы думали.

Вот лошадь проще простого загнать до упаду, собака останется верна хозяину, даже если он будет ее бить и пинать. А ослик ни за что не сдвинется с места, если почувствует, что вес ему не под силу. Обязательно остановится на горной тропе, если поймет, что устал. И не оторвется от поилки, пока не напьется, хоть ты тресни пополам. «Упрямая, скотина!» – плюнув, вынесли приговор нерадивые скотоводы. А ишачок сам плевать хотел, на все эти выводы. Просто у него очень хорошо развито чувство самосохранения. Вот и все)

Теперь (с прошлой осени) грустный ослик бегает на воле в одном из фермерских хозяйств Екатеринбурга, нашел себе подружку и грустным быть перестал. Хотя, может, и покусывает иногда кого-нибудь. Самец ведь все-таки!
